Millwood 2018 defensive tackle Israel Antwine reopened his recruitment late Sunday night. Antwine had been committed to Ole Miss since May but with the recent scandals going on with the Rebels, most notably head coach Hugh Freeze resigning, Antwine will be looking elsewhere. He’ll have plenty of options as to where he’ll end up. Texas was the latest high profile school to offer the Millwood star. He also holds offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State and TCU, among many others.
Antwine ranks as the 11th best overall prospect in the OKPreps 2018 Rankings. He also rates as the 3rd best defensive lineman on the OKPreps Big Board. He currently sits behind two OU commits, Jordan Kelley from Union and Ron Tatum III from Putnam City.
Antwine emerged as a star for the Falcons a year ago as they went undefeated and captured the Class 2A state championship. Millwood will once again be the favorite in 2A as we open up the season a little less than a month from now. Antwine stated on Twitter that he doesn’t want to prolong the recruiting process, so a decision could come before the Falcons kick the season off on August 31st.
