Carl Albert 2018 safety Jason Taylor II has committed to Oklahoma State after a commitment ceremony on Friday morning. Taylor picked the Cowboys after narrowing his options to Oklahoma State, SMU and Tulsa earlier this week. Taylor is a two-sport standout for the Titans. He was a critical part of their football state title team in 2016 as well as the basketball state title teams in 2015 and 2016.
Taylor is the first in-state defensive prospect to commit to the Cowboys, but the fifth overall in the 2018 class. Earlier this year, the Cowboys roped in three offensive linemen when Bixby’s Bryce Bray, Sulphur’s Jacob Farrell and Tuttle’s Hunter Anthony all committed. The Cowboys also received a commitment from Union wide receiver CJ Moore for both football and track.
Taylor is the 22nd prospect to commit in Oklahoma’s 2018 class. Earlier this week, Millwood defensive tackle Israel Antwine decommitted from Ole Miss. Taylor is currently ranked as the fifth best defensive back prospect on the OKPreps Big Board. He’s also rated as the 13th overall prospect in the OKPreps 2018 Rankings. He’s the 15th prospect in the Top 20 to commit before the season starts later this month.
