Sand Springs senior running back Payton Scott is this week’s winner of the “Fan’s Favorite” for OKPreps Player Of The Week. After the poll received a season-high 60,000+ votes, Scott edged out Holland Hall running back Joe Smith, winning with 47% of the vote. He beat out Smith, who finished in second place with 41% of the vote. Scott wins the Fan’s Favorite, two weeks after narrowly losing to Jenks quarterback Ian Corwin. The Jenks QB beat out Scott in the closest race of the season, winning by 64 votes. Lawton Eisenhower quarterback and defensive back RJ Fisher was the Staff Selection for Player Of The Week this week.

A couple weeks after setting the school record for most rushing yards with 358, Sand Springs running back Payton Scott was at it again in a victory over Ponca City. While he didn’t match his record, Scott ran for 280 yards on just 18 carries and finished with five touchdowns as the Sandites took care of the Wildcats. Scott appears to be well on his way to running for over 2,000 yards this year.
