Broken Arrow 2018 safety Gary Mossop Jr. has given his commitment to his future school and his country. The Broken Arrow defensive standout committed to the Air Force Academy on Wednesday night. Mossop selected Air Force over several other D1 offers. He committed to the Falcons after an in-home visit with coaches and talking with his family on Wednesday. Mossop plans to take advantage of the early signing period for football and will sign on the dotted line on December 20th.
Mossop is the second prospect in Oklahoma’s 2018 class to commit to Air Force. Wynnewood linebacker Brody Odom committed to the Academy last month. Mossop is also the fifth Oklahoma prospect to commit to one of the service academies. In addition to Odom, Edmond Memorial’s Brendan Mitchell and Yukon’s Perry Olsen are committed to Navy. And Edmond North’s Hunter Richard is committed to Army.
Mossop is the 28th prospect to commit to a D1 school in Oklahoma’s 2018 class. It’s been nearly a month since an Oklahoman has committed to a D1 school, but that number is sure to pick up now that the season is over. Mossop was ranked as the 32nd best player in Oklahoma’s 2018 Class when the rankings were updated back in July. He was also ranked as the 7th best defensive back prospect, regardless of class, on the OKPreps Big Board.
