We’re less than two weeks away from National Signing Day but colleges have begun their search for next year’s big stars. North Texas has had a very busy week in Oklahoma, recruiting some of the best prospects in the 2019 class. North Texas has always put an importance on recruiting Oklahoma prospects. Their head coach Seth Littrell played high school ball at Muskogee before moving on to OU. Their All Conference quarterback Mason Fine was a standout at Locust Grove, rewriting the record book for passing in Oklahoma. North Texas has plenty of Oklahomans on their roster and they’ve been aggressive this week in coming after some of the state’s top junior talent.

They kicked things off earlier in the week when they offered Millwood running back Marcus Major. The Millwood junior is in the process of blowing up in a big way. He went from no offers to a handful in a few days. That will only continue as his impressive junior tape continues to make the rounds. Major also trained with former Sooner fullback J.D. Runnels over the weekend. Runnels tweeted out a video of Major’s workout and compared the Millwood standout to former OU great, and Runnels’ former teammate Adrian Peterson.

North Texas turned their attention on the Tulsa area later in the week and offered Union offensive lineman Ricky Stromberg. Stromberg has already picked up a handful of offers but he’s primed to have a big spring. He already had some attention as a possible breakout prospect, entering his junior season. Stromberg followed that up with a very productive season. Every time OKPreps saw Stromberg in person, he was one of the more dominant linemen in the state. In our opinion, he’s already established himself as the best OL prospect in Oklahoma’s 2019 class.

Thursday was a big day for the Mean Green. In addition to the Stromberg offer, they also gave two other prospects their first D1 offer. Booker T Washington athlete DJ Jones and Broken Arrow linebacker Zach Marcheselli each reported offers from North Texas. Marcheselli’s teammate Derrick Shaw is a defensive lineman prospect that is currently committed to North Texas. Meanwhile, Jones has shown the ability to play at a high level on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
