Booker T Washington 2019 standout Demarco “DJ” Jones announced on Monday that he has committed to Oklahoma State. Jones announced the decision after receiving an offer from the Cowboys last week. he also hinted at making the decision Sunday on Twitter. Jones is a two-way star for the Hornets but his future will be at cornerback.
During the 2017 season, Booker T Washington rolled on their way to a state championship. The Hornet defense was one of the best in the state, regardless of class. And Jones was a big part of that in the defensive backfield. Along with Rylan McQuarters at the other corner, and superstar Dax Hill, the Hornets’ secondary became a “no fly zone” rather quickly. Hill is currently ranked as the top prospect in Oklahoma’s 2019 class. He’s the younger brother of former Hornet running back Justice Hill, who is at Oklahoma State.
Jones is also a key contributor to the Hornets on the basketball floor. They open up their playoff run later this week in the regional round. He told OKPreps before the BOK Showcase that this season would be his last year of playing basketball. He plans on focusing on football this spring and summer, graduating early and enrolling at his future school.
Jones is only the second prospect in Oklahoma’s 2019 class to commit. He joins Collinsville tight end Grayson Boomer, who is also committed to Oklahoma State. Broken Arrow 2020 offensive lineman Andrew Raym is committed to Oklahoma.
