Who: Booker T Washington VS Pryor

What: Class 5A Girls State Championship

When: Saturday – 6PM

Where: Mabee Center – Oral Roberts University

Booker T Washington returns to the state championship game for the first time since winning it all in 2013. The same can be said for the Pryor Lady Tigers. They’re playing for their first gold ball since winning it in 2003. Pryor has been simply dominant in this week’s state tournament. They beat up on El Reno by 20 points in their quarterfinal victory. They followed that up by outscoring Woodward 21-6 in the third quarter to run away with the semifinal victory. Booker T Washington has had to be more methodical. They used a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter to beat top ranked Lawton Eisenhower. They would then force 17 Coweta turnovers in the first half, outscoring them 15-2 during a stretch and they cruised to a win. These two teams will be familiar with one another when they take the court on Saturday evening. Pryor punched their ticket to the state tournament at the expense of Booker T Washington in the area final. Pryor won that meeting 50-45. The rematch will be the one that counts.

Player To Watch: Camryn Fennell – Guard
Booker T Washington has several players that could end up taking the spotlight on Saturday evening. When we last saw the Lady Hornets on the floor, they used a suffocating defense to force 30+ Coweta turnovers. That defense was led by Camryn Fennell. The guard led the Lady Hornets with 18 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in the win. Fennell and the Lady Hornets will look to replicate their defensive success against a red-hot Pryor offense.

Record: (21-7)

Championships: 1 (2003)

Road To Championship Saturday
Quarterfinals: Beat El Reno 62-42
Semifinals: Beat Woodward 54-46

Player To Watch: Chloe Martin – Guard
Pryor sophomore Chloe Martin hasn’t been playing like a sophomore this week at the state tournament. She’s showing why she’s one of Class 5A’s top players and if you’re a Pryor fan, you’re excited to have her for at least two more years. In their semifinal win over Woodward, Martin scored a game-high 19 points. Pryor won that game because of their performance in the second half. 14 of her 19 points were after halftime.
