Girls Player Of The Year: Gabby Gregory

Holland Hall junior forward Gabby Gregory is this year’s staff pick for the OKPreps Girls Player Of The Year. After helping lead the Lady Dutch back to the state tournament, Gregory is this year’s pick. She averaged 30+ points per game and was a double double machine for Holland Hall. The most impressive part about Gregory, and the thing that separated her from other Player Of The Year finalists was her play against bigger teams.

We’ve seen players absolutely dominate at the small school level. However, when they’ve come across some of the heavy hitters in the bigger classes, those players were limited in what they could do. That was not the case for Gregory. She dominated every single night Holland Hall took the floor. She broke the scoring record at the prestigious Tournament Of Champions after games against Owasso, Sand Springs and Westmoore. All three are 6A teams, two of which made the state tourney and one (Owasso) who won the state title.

Gregory has been dominant since she was a freshman. Last year, as a sophomore, Gregory was a finalist for the Player Of The Year award after a stellar sophomore campaign. She helped lead Holland Hall to the state tournament in their first year playing in the OSSAA. She only got better this year. She’ll be one of the top recruits in Oklahoma’s 2019 class. The scary part is that Holland Hall returns the majority of their starters around Gregory.

Gregory has already eclipsed 2,000 points for her career. With another strong season next year, she’ll find herself in the top ten of the Oklahoma all time scoring list.
