Union 2019 offensive lineman Ricky Stromberg has chosen to stay home and has committed to Tulsa. Stromberg tweeted out his commitment to Tulsa on Monday morning, picking TU over several other D1 offers. While the 2018 class was headlined by offensive tackles, the 2019 class is loaded with stud interior linemen and Stromberg tops the list. He spent last year at left tackle for Union, but his more natural spot at the next level will be on the interior of the offensive line.
Stromberg is ranked as the 7th overall prospect in the OKPreps 2019 Rankings. He is also ranked as the top overall offensive lineman in Oklahoma’s 2019 class. Stromberg joins another highly ranked offensive lineman prospect in committing to Tulsa. Edison’s Chester Baah committed to the Golden Hurricane last week.
Stromberg is the seventh D1 commitment in Oklahoma’s 2019 class and the fourth commit in less than two weeks. Owasso quarterback Will Kuehne committed to North Texas last week and Broken Arrow linebacker Zach Marcheselli committed to TCU the week before. Stromberg also joins Collinsville’s Grayson Boomer and Booker T Washington’s DJ Jones, who are committed to OSU. And Booker T Washington’s Thomas Grayson is committed to Nebraska.
Stromberg’s commitment continues a rapid pace of commitments within the last two weeks. Before Marcheselli’s commitment to TCU, the 2019 class only had three commitments. At this time last year, the 2018 class had over 20 commitments to D1 programs. We talked about how this shows that more commitments are coming and they’re coming fast in our most recent OKPreps Recruiting Report.
Stay tuned to OKPreps for more on Stromberg’s commitment to the Golden Hurricane.
