A big domino has fallen when it comes to the best of the best in Oklahoma’s 2019 class. Millwood running back Marcus Major announced on Saturday night that he would be staying home and will be playing college ball at Oklahoma. Major chose the Sooners after nearly every top program in the country courted him.
Major immediately became a household name around Oklahoma after former Sooner J.D. Runnels tweeted that the Millwood standout was the closest he’s seen to Adrian Peterson. Runnels of course was Peterson’s lead blocker at OU. From there, Major was on everyone’s radar and his recruitment took off immediately.
Major is currently ranked as the 2nd overall prospect in the OKPreps 2019 Rankings. Only Booker T Washington’s Dax Hill is ahead of Major. He is also ranked as the top overall running back in Oklahoma’s 2019 class. Now the attention focuses to another highly ranked Millwood Falcon. Wide receiver Demariyon Houston announced earlier on Saturday that he would be making his commitment on July 7th.
Major is the eleventh commitment in Oklahoma’s 2019 class and the fifth verbal that we’ve seen this week. Earlier this week, Union’s Darius Boone Jr., Darrias Murdock and Ricky Stromberg all announced their commitments. On Friday night, Blanchard wide receiver Jamie Nance committed to Nebraska.
