Every Sunday, OKPreps will take a look at the best performances from the previous week. We’ll narrow it down to five candidates and open it up so you can vote for the “Fan’s Favorite” Player Of The Week. You can vote as many times as you want for your pick and the voting will end at Noon on Wednesday. The winner will be crowned on Wednesday afternoon. The staff selection for the Bravado Wireless Player Of The Week will be made every Monday with a video feature of the winner coming out on Tuesday. Here’s a look at this week’s candidates.
BRENNAN PRESLEY – WIDE RECEIVER
Bixby wide receiver and defensive back Brennan Presley had one of the more efficient nights in week ten. As the Spartans knocked off Muskogee 51-7 on the road, Presley had another stellar performance. He’s no stranger to being a Player Of The Week candidate. This is his second time this year. He finished with five catches for 162 yards and four of those five catches went for touchdowns in the blowout victory.
DADRION “RABBIT” TAYLOR – RUNNING BACK
It was the game of the week and star running back Dadrion “Rabbit” Taylor didn’t disappoint. Carl Albert won their 32nd game in a row and captured the district title as they renewed their rivalry with Bishop McGuinness in a 20-14 win. Taylor was responsible for all three Titan touchdowns. He ran for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also threw the go-ahead touchdown to quarterback Ben Harris to give the Titans the lead for good.
ISAIAH JACOBS – RUNNING BACK
It was a must-win situation for the defending champions as they knocked off Putnam City North 41-7. The Rams relied on their junior running back Isaiah Jacobs, who is knocking on the door of stardom. Jacobs had one of, if not his best performances of his young career. He ran for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 24 carries. If he carries this momentum into the playoffs, the defending champs will be tough to slow down.
QWONTREL WALKER – RUNNING BACK
For the third time this season, Stillwater sophomore running back Qwontrel Walker is a candidate for Player Of The Week. His latest performance came in arguably the biggest game of Stillwater’s season. The Pioneers locked up the district title and an unbeaten regular season with a 35-21 win on the road in Del City. Walker ran for 277 yards and four touchdowns. Three of those TD’s came in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory.
SEVION MORRISON – RUNNING BACK
Another three-time candidate is Edison junior running back Sevion Morrison. The Edison Eagle had another dominating performance in Edison’s 37-27 win over Ada, that gave the Eagles homefield advantage in the first round. He ran for 382 yards and five touchdowns in the win. In the last five weeks, Morrison has been unstoppable. He’s ran for 1,745 yards and 26 touchdowns as the Eagles closed out the season on a five game winning streak.
