With the first weekend of regular season basketball tournaments underway, OKPreps.com spent Thursday in the 918. Our night cap game was Tulsa Central against Westmoore in the Broken Arrow Classic. The 4A Braves built and early lead thanks to their size and athleticism advantage and never looked back.
6 foot 7 senior forward Jaylen Thomas finished with 25 points in their 74-59 victory. Next up for Central, is a semifinal match up against Stillwater.
In the afternoon another 4A squad took down a Class 6A foe. This time it was the Lady Dutch of Holland Hall. Senior and OU signee Gabby Gregory scored 21 points in the first half alone in their win over Stillwater. On Friday they have a tough test against a talented and deep Putnam City West girls squad.
On Thursday morning, Class 5A Claremore Zebras took down Class 4A Tulsa Webster Warriors. The Zebras rode hot second and third quarter shooting from beyond the arc to a double digit lead. Then held off a late rally by Warriors to advance to the semifinals of the Bishop Kelley Invitational, where they’ll play Shawnee.
