VARNUM 72, DEWAR 35
Highlights from Varnum’s 72-35 win over Dewar in the 7th place game in the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions. Varnum jumped out to a 9-0 lead and would shut down any Dewar rally to get the win. Leading the way was guard Nakai Harjo, who made a solid case for All Tournament honors. She finished with 23 points on 9-13 shooting. Harjo averaged 15.7 points per game in the three day run in Tulsa, but saved her best performance for Saturday morning. Harjo was joined in double figures by Madyson Kinsey, who finished with 20 points and knocked down six 3-pointers.
HUGO 60, WHITESBORO 44
Highlights from Hugo’s 60-44 win over Whitesboro in the 7th place game in the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions. After a back and forth first half, Hugo built a double digit lead to end the third. And never looked back in the final frame as they cruised to the win to end their ToC experience on a high note. Senior forward Houston Greggs was the anchor for the Buffalo; he grabbed 13 boards while also scoring a game high 13 points.
BIXBY 53, VICTORY CHRISTIAN 48
Highlights from Bixby’s 53-48 win over Victory Christian to capture the 5th place finish in the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions. The Lady Spartans climbed out of an early hole to run away with the win in the second half. After trailing by 7 at halftime, Bixby would outscore Victory 15-3 in the third quarter and would continue to pull away in the final frame. Leading the way on Saturday was Savanna Stout, who scored a game-high 18 points. She was joined in double figures by Dariann Myles and Sydnee Schovanec, who finished with 12 and 11 points respectively.
KINGSTON 58, FORT COBB BROXTON 47
Highlights from Kingston’s 58-47 win over Fort Cobb-Broxton to capture the 5th place finish in the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions. After a sluggish second quarter left them in a 5 point hole at the half, Kingston exploded in the third frame. They would go on to win 58-47. Senior RJ Weeks was the catalyst for the win, as he scored 20 points, handed out 5 assists and was a key factor in their disruptive defensive. While senior Jacob Germany struggled from the field with only 11 points, he did pull down 23 rebounds.
TAHLEQUAH SEQUOYAH 65, EAST CENTRAL 44
Highlights from Tahlequah Sequoyah’s 65-44 win over East Central to capture 3rd place in the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions. The Lady Indians bounced back from a loss on Friday by jumping out 15-6 over East Central after one quarter. That was a deficit that the Lady Cardinals could not overcome. Star guard Lexy Keys would save her best TOC performance for the final day as she went for 22 points and dished out 8 assists.
KINGFISHER 77, PUTNAM CITY WEST 56
Highlights from Kingfisher’s 65-44 win over Putnam City West to capture 3rd place in the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions. After a back and forth first half, Kingfisher ran away with it in the second half. Behind the bruising drives of Trey Green and the athletic slashing and rebounding of Matthew Stone, the Yellowjackets scored 42 points in the paint and went to the line 36 times. Green finished with a game high 28 points and Stone had a double double with 25 points and 14 rebounds.
MULDROW 52, EDMOND MEMORIAL 43
Highlights from Muldrow’s 52-43 win over Edmond Memorial to capture the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions crown. The Lady Bulldogs avenged their TOC title loss last year by knocking off the 6A #1 ranked Lady Bulldogs. Muldrow would outscore Edmond Memorial 18-7 in the final quarter to pull away and would also overcome star junior Taylen Collins having to sit with three fouls in the first half. Leading the way for Muldrow was Hannah Boyett, who finished with a game-high 15 points.
BOOKER T WASHINGTON 66 TULSA MEMORIAL 60
Highlights from Booker T Washington’s 66-60 win over Tulsa Memorial to capture the 54th Annual Tournament Of Champions crown. For the last two years, Tulsa Memorial has been the mountain that Booker T Washington has struggled the most to climb. To end the Tournament of Champions they scaled it behind 25 points from junior Bryce Thompson. Senior Seth Hurd played one of the best games of his career, holding his own against the taller Kalib Boone, while scoring 14 points of his own.
