For the second straight year, the BOK Center is hosting some great basketball on a Saturday in Tulsa. Four boys games and four girls games headline the event and OKPreps will have you covered from start to finish. Check out the game recaps and see the full schedule of basketball in downtown Tulsa.
OOLOGAH 85, HILLDALE 51
It was a slow start for Oologah with a 9AM tip but that slow start didn’t last very long. Oologah fell behind Hilldale 6-2 early on and would use a 15-2 run to never look back. At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Mustangs led 30-11 and only continued to extend their lead from there. Oologah would run away with the 85-51 win, using pressure defense and balanced guard play to control the game throughout. Leading the way for the Lady Mustangs was star junior guard Karly Wadsworth, who finished with a game-high 32 points controlled the game offensively and defensively. Oologah improved to 16-3 after dropping a tough game on Tuesday to #8 Vinita.
METRO CHRISTIAN 41, REGENT PREP 36
Metro Christian put Regent Prep in a 25-9 hole at halftime and would have to hold off the Rams to survive in the second game of the BOK Showcase. Regent Prep would rally in the second half. The Rams would tie things up in the fourth quarter at 34 but that was as close as they could get to taking the lead. Metro Christian got out with a win, despite only making two field goals in the second half. They also avenged a loss to Regent Prep a few weeks ago.
EAST CENTRAL 51, BISHOP KELLEY 33
In the third game of the day, we saw another team jump out to a big lead in the first quarter and never look back. Much like the first game with Oologah and Hilldale, East Central would lead Bishop Kelley 16-2 after one quarter and the Lady Comets couldn’t get within single digits after that. East Central was led by freshman sensation Journey Armstead, who finished with a game-high 16 points. The Lady Cardinals were just too much as they try to push to host a regional.
OWASSO 60, BARTLESVILLE 48
The 1-2 punch of Seth Pomeroy and Hayden Peterson was on point for Owasso as the Rams sweep Bartlesville with a 60-48 win. The Rams knocked off the Bruins in a game that Owasso controlled from the opening tip. While Bartlesville was always in striking distance, they could never get it down to single digits and the Rams would roll to the win. Pomeroy led the way for Owasso with 18 points, Peterson added 15 points for the Rams in the win.
UNION 66, BROKEN ARROW 31
We continued the theme of the day and that was blowouts. This time around, it was a very balanced Union attack that put down Broken Arrow 66-31 in the biggest blowout of the day. Union had 14 players score in the victory as Broken Arrow was held to just two made field goals in the first half and Union was able to run away with the victory. Broken Arrow trimmed the lead to 10-7 late in the first quarter and Union would follow that up with a 16-2 run.
