Every Sunday, OKPreps will take a look at the best performances from the previous week. We’ll narrow it down to five candidates and open it up so you can vote for the “Fan’s Favorite” Player Of The Week. You can vote as many times as you want for your pick and the voting will end at Noon on Wednesday. The staff selection for the Player Of The Week will be made Wednesday and both winners will have a feature on Wednesday afternoon. Here’s a look at this week’s candidates.
BRENNAN PRESLEY – WIDE RECEIVER/DEFENSIVE BACK – BIXBY
For the second straight week, Bixby senior and OSU commit Brennan Presley is a candidate for Player Of The Week. While his receiving numbers weren’t as strong as week zero, he had a complete performance in their blowout win over Jenks. He caught four passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. He also had three interceptions on defense in the rout.
DAYTON WOLFE – QUARTERBACK – WESTMOORE
Westmoore continued their dominance over rival Moore in the annual Moore War. The Jags were led by junior quarterback Dayton Wolfe who could not be slowed down all night. He threw for 333 yards and five touchdowns. It was a great QB match-up between Wolfe and Westmoore and Daniel Hishaw, a Kansas commit, at Moore. Wolfe and the Jags came out on top.
GENTRY WILLIAMS – QUARTERBACK – BOOKER T WASHINGTON
After missing their season opener against North Little Rock, super sophomore Gentry Williams was itching to get back on the field and help his team. He certainly did that as the Hornets beat Bishop Kelley 33-14. Williams threw for nearly 300 yards and ran for 71 yards. The dynamic youngster threw four touchdowns and ran for his fifth on the night.
NATE ANDERSON – RUNNING BACK – REJOICE CHRISTIAN
The biggest question with Rejoice Christian coming into 2019 was who was going to replace star Andrew Crow. It didn’t take that long to find out the answer. In a big season opener against Crossings Christian, running back Nate Anderson exploded. He finished the night with 284 yards and five touchdowns on 19 carries as Rejoice blew out Crossings in a big week one win.
TRISTON TRUELOVE – RUNNING BACK – TUTTLE
Tuttle went on the road and dominated Kingfisher in a statement victory from the defending 4A champs. Running back Triston Truelove had a career night in the victory. He carried the ball 38 times and finished with 283 yards and four touchdowns. You knew Truelove would be a bigger part of the Tuttle offense this fall, but those numbers are among the best in the state.
