One of the state’s absolute best players will be staying in-state to play her college basketball. Muldrow 2020 forward Taylen Collins committed to Oklahoma State over the weekend, following an official visit to Stillwater.
Collins chose Oklahoma State over Arizona State, Arkansas, Kentucky and Texas A&M. Taylen’s dad Terry played for Oklahoma State in the early nineties, he was a member of the 1995 Final Four team and is currently the boys basketball coach at Muldrow.
Collins burst onto the scene as one of the state’s best when she was a sophomore. It was very obvious that she was one of the best athletes in her class and had the talent to become one of the top prospects. As a sophomore, she helped lead Muldrow to the state tournament for the first time in nearly a decade. They would lose in the semifinals to Harrah.
As a junior, Collins would help lead Muldrow to a 29-2 record. They would win the Tournament Of Champions in December. The only losses came to Victory Christian in the area round and the Lady Bulldogs would lose to Anadarko in the state championship game.
Collins will join Victory Christian’s Ruthie Udoumoh as current Oklahomans who have committed to OSU for the 2020 class. Currently, there are three Oklahomans on the OSU roster. That includes incoming freshman Lauren Fields from Shawnee, who originally signed with Cal last year.
