Tuttle was title town once again in 2018. The Tigers were a perfect 14-0 and came into 2019 with the expectations of going after another gold ball. They started the season 5-0 and then met familiar foe Bethany in a district title showdown. The Bronchos got the best of Tuttle 21-0 in October and left the Tigers in second place in the district. Despite that, the Tigers have still been one of the top teams in Class 4A and the expectations that they had back in August have not changed as they head into November.
TEAM TO BEAT
After losing to Tuttle in district play and again in the state championship, Bethany was determined to erase the memories of last season. They made a statement when they beat Tuttle on the road in a 1 VS 2 match-up in October. Since taking over the top spot, Bethany hasn’t missed a beat. They’ve finished off a perfect regular season and now set their sights on going after the gold ball that slipped through their grasps last season. Led by superstar Sam Brandt, Bethany won’t go down easily.
MARQUEE FIRST ROUND GAME
Clinton AT Bethany
While this match-up on paper doesn’t look like a must-watch game, we still gave it the nod. A few reasons. Clinton is a top ten team. They played in a brutal district and were tripped up a few times, making them a very unusual four seed. These two are familiar with one another. They faced off in the semifinals a year ago and Bethany was able to escape in double overtime. While the game might not go to double overtime again this year, it’s still an intriguing match-up.
