Hominy quarterback Blake Hipp ran away with this week’s Fan’s Favorite award for the Bravado Wireless Player Of The Week. Hipp was instrumental in Hominy’s 58-41 win over Hulbert on Friday night and the fans voted accordingly. Hipp earned 57% of the vote, beating out Broken Arrow running back Noah Cortes, who finished second with 34% of the vote. Nearly 34,000 votes were brought in and the player from a Class A school held off a player from the largest school in the state.
In one of the biggest shootouts during week zero, Hominy got the best of Hulbert in a game that featured touchdown after touchdown. The Bucks knocked off previously ranked Hulbert and put themselves in this week’s top ten rankings in Class A. During their 58-41 win over Hulbert, Hipp could not be stopped. He threw for 290 yards and five touchdowns on 7-14 passing. He also added 84 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Earlier this week, Owasso quarterback Will Kuehne was tabbed as the staff pick for this week’s Bravado Wireless Player Of The Week.
Check back every Sunday when five players will be named candidates for the award and voting will begin again!
